A Perspective On Giving – Why Giving Matters And How Jesus Christ Will Change You.
The Bible states that Jesus Christ himself said “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”~Acts 20:35 . Some are of the opinion that there’s no way a giver would be happier than the receiver.   2. Giving shows that you submit to the lordship of God;
    As Christians, whenever we are obedient to the Word, we are indirectly saying that we recognize and support a higher authority in our lives. We show that there’s a God above whom we must respect and honor. For a number of reasons, we may find some of the instructions in the Bible easier to follow, but there are some that we may have a hard time following. There are sometimes where our natural tendencies and circumstances may make things difficult. For most people, one of these situations is giving. Our bank accounts and wallets happen to be two of the main things in our life that do not fall under God’s rule and even when they do; it is for only a short period of time.
    Like most of the other instructions that we have been given, when we decide to give, we’ll definitely be happy and also show our love and respect to our Lord.
  3. Giving is a gift from God;
    The words recorded at John 3:16 which clearly reveals that God gave his son to die on our behalf. This is the greatest gift humans have been given and in what way can we show that we appreciate this sacrifice than by giving? Paul was fully aware of this, and that was why he encouraged the Christians in Corinthians to learn from Jesus and his Father. Paul’s word recorded at 2 Corinthians 8:9 clearly confirms this point. He reveals that for our sake Jesus who was rich became poor and that through his poverty we may become rich.
    Unknown to most people, when we give to our brothers and sisters, we are showing that we appreciate the sacrifice Jesus made for us. It also clearly shows that we are preaching the gospel of salvation to others. Giving is a gift from God and should never be taken for granted.
  4. Giving means that you trust God’s provision;
    One of the biggest excuses people give for not giving is that if they give too much, they may not have anything left to cater to their personal needs. As Christians that should not be our resolve. Giving is proof that we trust God to provide for our needs. There are a number of Bible accounts that reinforce this point. We’ll take a few of them. The story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath recorded in the account of 1 Kings Chapter 17 is one that all should take to heart. The widow although only having just a handful of flour and a little oil she sacrificed her all to ensure that Elijah was well fed. She had no other means of survival and giving Elijah would mean that she and son would have to starve. That didn’t deter her; she gave him. She was richly blessed for that act and Elijah told her that until the rain comes that her jar of flour and jug of oil will never run dry.
    Another remarkable story of giving is that recorded in the Bible book of Mark chapter 12 verses 41 to 44. She only had two small coins which were of little value, yet she gave all. Her act of kindness did not go unnoticed as Jesus commended her. What makes this story remarkable is that that was only what she had. While many people were dropping in out of their riches and abundance, she gave her entire livelihood. With those two little coins of small value, she was able to secure her place in the kingdom of God. What can we learn from these two acts of giving? These two accounts show that when we give we will always be rewarded and that we should never be afraid to give our all as God is fully aware of our actions and would reward us accordingly.
  5. God loves giving;
    The Bible on countless occasions has reminded us that God loves a cheerful giver. This clearly means that as we give, God loves us and will continue to bless us.     Currently, a number of us have contributed to the success of companies like Apple, Microsoft, etc. While this is good, most have neglected that of advancing the kingdom of our Heavenly Father.   7. It praises the character of God;
    Remember that giving is one of the many attributes of God. While we did not deserve it, he sent his son to die for our sins. He encourages us to do so, and when we do, we praise his character.

Making a difference. That is the thought of some many people who walk the earth today. There are many definitions of what really makes a difference. While people’s opinions may differ, there are some fundamental things which would surely count as making a difference. If you are a Christian, then these things would appeal strongly to you.
So how do you make a difference and make this world a better place before you leave this earth? Here are some vital ways you can do this;
Sharing
Our God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) When our savior Jesus Christ was on earth, he also made sure he gave. A clear example was the feeding of the crowd with five loaves of bread and two fishes. (John 6:1-14) While we may not be able to do that today, there are vital ways in which we can share and make an impact in the world we live.
In this world. There are many people who would need our help one way or the other. You can make a difference by helping out in whatever you can. One way we can do this is by helping people out in times of disaster. Many countries throughout the world face one natural disaster or the other. These disasters can leave them without a home or lead to a loss of their properties. You can help share in volunteer work.
Another way in which you can help is through donations. There are many charities worldwide who are looking for donations to assist the poor or those who are in various orphanage. Contributing to various charities is one way in which you can make a difference in this world.
Truly Listen
When people think about making a difference, they think about doing it on a grand scale. Perhaps to a lot of people at once or to be known across the globe. However, sometimes, all you would have to do to make a difference is to truly listen.
The people around us today all have many issues that they are dealing with. They need someone to listen, reach out and pray for them. The Inspiration Of Jesus – How Jesus Christ Has Inspired Me

Jesus Christ is the son of God who was sent to this Earth to die for our sins right after the first man and woman Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. Being the son of God, Jesus displayed a number of amazing qualities that would definitely inspire any true Christian. These features of Christ are some of the things that we as Christians should take to heart and also imitate. Jesus inspires us to be better persons in so many ways. For the purpose of this piece, we’ll take a look at some of the ways our Lord Jesus Christ inspires to not just be better Christians but to be better persons wherever we find ourselves. These ways include but are definitely not limited to these;

  1. He did not promote himself;

The words recorded in the Bible book of Mark chapter 1 verse 11 is proof that Jesus did not in any way promote himself. Right from the start of his gospel, he made it clear to all those that listened to him that there was a higher being. He encouraged all to turn to his Heavenly Father. While most times we may become full ourselves to the extent that we take the credit for the work that was done by others, this quality of our Lord should inspire us to be better persons. If you are familiar with the Bible, you will definitely agree that there were a number of occasions where Jesus clearly told all those he was teaching that no one should call him “Rabbi” (which means teacher). He told them that there is only one teacher who is God.

Another thing that showed that Jesus did not promote himself in any way is the fact that he although being perfect was able to surrender himself to John The Baptist to be baptized by him. This is an act of humility, and it goes a long way to show that Jesus was and would never promote himself. Even when the dove appeared as he was being baptized, Jesus did not see that as an opportunity to point out to John that he was greater. On a number of occasions, the disciples saw Jesus give thanks to his Father above.

Another way Jesus showed that he was not self-promoting was when he performed miracles. While most people would want to take all the glory for themselves, Jesus clearly offered thanks to his Father and also gave credit to him. He also prayed to God fervently clearly telling us Christians that we need to do the same if we want to have our names written in the book of life. This quality of our Lord Jesus is something that would definitely inspire us to be humble. Notice that Jesus did not pick times to be humble; he was always humble even in his dealings with his apostles. This would definitely inspire us to be better persons and generally better Christians.

  1. Jesus was obedient;

Immediately after his baptism, the gospel account of Mark clearly stated that the spirit sent him into the wilderness. He did not refuse to go; he went and remained there for forty days. It was then the devil tried to tempt him. While being a superior being, Jesus had the spirit of obedience.

There are a number of occasions when Jesus was obedient. Jesus was also obedient to his parents. The wedding feast in Cana is proof that he was obedient. When the wine at the wedding was exhausted, his mother Mary kindly asked him to do something about it. Ordinarily, Jesus would have plainly told her that his mission on Earth was to spread the gospel and not to turn water to wine at a wedding feast. He obeyed his mother and was able to turn water to wine.

As Christians, we need to have the spirit of obedience. There could be times when we are asked to carry out certain functions in the Church; our behavior would determine if we have been inspired by Christ. Most of the times we may feel that the job assigned to us is way beyond our standard. Having the mind of Jesus will encourage us to carry out this assignment well without resentment or grudge of any kind.

  1. Jesus was self-sacrificing;

One thing we can all agree to is that Jesus was self-sacrificing. He put the interest of his apostles way ahead of his. The Bible accounts of Mark, Luke, and Matthew is proof that he really was self-sacrificing. First, he gave himself for us. Although being the son of God, Jesus willingly came down to this Earth to die for our sins. This clearly shows that he had our interest at heart.

Another example of Jesus’ self-sacrificing spirit is seen when he was being betrayed. Although he knew that he would definitely be killed, he still went ahead. When the soldiers came to arrest him led by Judas Iscariot, he gladly offered himself. He ordered the soldiers to let his apostles go. This alone shows that he placed the interest of his apostles ahead of his even in his death. As Christians, this quality of our Lord should inspire us. There are times we need to be self-sacrificing and put the interest of others ahead of ours.

Another example of this quality that should inspire us to be like Jesus is that of the 5000 men, women, and children he fed. Although he was tired, he made out time to teach these deserving ones. He did not end there; Jesus perceived that these ones were tired and hungry and could not leave them. He sent his disciples to look for food. Only five loaves of bread and two fish were found by the disciples. He quickly gave thanks to God for the provision, and a miracle happened. The Bible account reveals that the disciples were able to feed all in the audience with baskets still full. This example also proves that Jesus was never selfish. He always put the interest of others ahead of his. This should inspire us as Christians.

These are a few qualities that set Jesus apart from anyone that has ever lived. Jesus Christ was not in any way selfish neither was he proud. Being the son of God, he had every right to be proud, but he still remained humble. This shows that he’s the true son of God and only a person that has the mind of God could possess these qualities.

Jesus also was observant of his environment. He helped as many people as possible. Jesus never had free time; he was always ready to help out. Even when his disciples taught and He was tired, He still made out time to teach. This is shown in the account of Luke when the children came to meet Jesus. The disciples wanted to send them back, but Jesus asked them to send them to him. He was always ready to help out regardless of the circumstance.

Being generous is one of the principles which is recorded in the Bible. There is no doubt that being generous would surely bring you closer to Jesus Christ.

In a nutshell, giving works in logical sequence. Giving allows you to have healthy well-being which in turn would allow you to worship and feel closer to Jesus Christ even more.

It builds Trust

When you give something that rightfully belongs to you to another person which would most likely be a foreigner, you are taking a risk. The risk is that you are risking what you have with the hopes that the stranger would use it in a trustworthy way. That is one of the simplest ways that the feelings of trust can develop. When trust develops between two persons, the result is that people would be happier.

Trust and happiness seem to go hand in hand, and both are completely necessary if you want to be closer to Jesus Christ. The Father and the Son are love and want all their worshipers to know the love that only they can give.

Communication

Before you can actually share anything with anyone, you must actually communicate with the person. Communication is absolutely vital when it comes to getting closer to Jesus. Without communication, there would be no way to talk to him. Communication is the only way in which friends talk to each other. With communication at its highest, people would be able to know so much more about themselves. This would include their likes, dislikes, and even things that are most precious to them. This is the same when it comes to our relationship with Jesus. We would be closer to him in ways that we do not expect.

We would be able to tell him all our secrets and things that matter to us. We might even realize that soon, he would soon become your best friend.

Gratitude

Gratitude is a natural feeling which comes after sharing. The feeling of thankfulness or happiness that you have given or received something. It is clear then that gratitude has a direct link to happiness. Thus, when you share something with someone, you feel a sense of gratitude. That gratitude which you feel is then translated into happiness. That happiness helps our entire being. That would give us a better relationship with Jesus and the ability to make yourself become a better person.

Unity

In every church or congregation, unity is being preached. In fact, Jesus in the book of John stated that he was in union with his Father. He prayed for the same for his disciples. Unity is, therefore, an intrinsic part of our worship. Without unity, we would not really be followers of Jesus. It is important therefore that we show unity. One of the things that bring unity between groups of people and communities is sharing.

When you share with people, you instill in them a sense of togetherness and trust. They would be loyal to each other and try to protect their interests. Sharing also helps to promote cooperation. People would be more willing to cooperate if they believe that you are trustworthy and are kind. You would find that things would move a lot smoother for you when you are seen as a sharer. Better yet, you would be imitating Jesus Christ. This would no doubt draw you even closer to him and improve your relationship with him in the long run.

Love

The Bible says that love never fails and that one of the fundamental qualities of God is love. This shows just how high love is placed in the hierarchy of things. Without love, we would not be able to do all the things we are meant to do as Christians. We would also be unable to draw closer to Jesus. Love is also one of the principal things which would move us to share things with people.

The truth is that if you do not have love for your neighbor, sharing things that rightfully belong to you would prove to be harder than you would have ever thought. Sharing makes you develop that love to even higher levels. You would be able to radiate the love which Jesus wanted his disciples to especially show. With this love, you would be deemed to be pleasing in the eyes of the lord, and this would lead to you drawing closer to him.

Cultivating Mercy and Compassion

Sharing is one of the deepest connections you can have with someone. When you share with someone, you do so out of empathy and compassion. This is one of the many qualities of Jesus. Sharing more with people would give you the chance to keep cultivating this quality. With time, it would come so much more naturally to you. Your relationship with Jesus would be affected in a positive light.

As Christians, one of the most important things we have to watch out for is our conduct. Sometimes, our conduct has the ability to gain a soul or lose a soul forever. When we give, we are in effect helping others in ways that they might never have expected.
